Bloc Weekender
We've got a wee showcase at the Bloc Weekender - March 2008, it will most likely be a bit of a riot.

Rustie is playing live, and us three label types (Jackmaster, Spencer and myself Nel) will be waging a War on Pontins. Times to follow.

Lory D will be playing too, he's been pulled into one of the main rooms for part of the Rephlex showcase. The louder the better though - he'll be rinsing some new Wireblock gear...

Full line up, travel info etc on the Bloc site:

Wireblock 002
The first part in a trilogy of various artist compilation will see Alex Cortex and Bogger from Germany square off against Rustie and fellow Glaswegian genius Truffle Club (aka Sparky).

The TPs are back, so its on. Soon. Watch this space.

Bumper - Everybodi Fonki EP
Our first record, by Dutch duo Bumper, was jointly released this year with our sister label Point. One Recordings (check their page for more good shit from the likes of Automat, Voltaic and Letroset)

The Bumper sound is something like Parliament gang-banging Prince in a bathtub of sparkling hot electrojelly - if you dig bad-ass electronic funk this is for you. Sold out at our end but you can still pick it up online at North South Divide.

Sound clips and the chance to tell us what you think here:

Hello
We are Wireblock records - straight outta Glasgow run by Nelson, Spencer and Jackmaster.

We do other stuff too - Jackmaster works for Rubadub, runs the Dress 2 $weat label and co-runs Point. One Recordings; Nelson works in a Remote Location; Spencer works for Warp Records.

We've also been running 2 different clubs in Glasgow - Seismic and Numbers - for the past 5 years.

This label has been a long a time coming - we're chuffed that we can finally let people hear some music...

If you dig what we do, want to book any of our artists to play, or want us to hear your music - please send us an email.

Wireblock is part of the North South Divide.

Rustie - Wireblock Records 2007
Rustie
With a list of admirers that includes everyone from Modeselektor and Anthony “Shake” Shakir to Alex Smoke and Plastician, it's no wonder everyone's talking about Rustie - Glasgow's newest boy wonder on the buttons.

His debut solo 12” on Stuffrecords is a surprise record of 2007 for many (although not those of us who know his steez) - a genre defying mash-up of low slung hip-hop, dubstep and classic rave it had everyone reaching for their wallets in a desperate scramble to snatch up a piece of the extremely limited press.

An appearance on the first Wireblock release will be followed by a full length EP next year. With tracks forthcoming on Dress 2 $weat plus a bombastic live set to boot, 2008 will see our man Rustie cemented as one of the brightest talents in the UK.

Lory D - Wireblock Records 2007
Lory D
Italian Lory D is one of the true unsung heroes of Techno.

An ex-DMC champion in Rome, Lory has been playing since 1989 - entertaining 10,000+ crowds at the birth of rave in Italy, where he is regarded as a legend. He owns seminal Roman label 'Sounds Never Seen', which was brought to focus in 2003 with Rephlex's compilation of his impossible-to-find early releases.

Having just built his 6th studio, Lory's 17 years of experience can be heard in the depth of his new productions. Analogue synth squelches and rattling drum boxes combine with razor sharp edits and twisted computer madness - creating fearless music aimed at the dancefloor. His recent live sets have been tearing the roof off our clubs in Glasgow.

After years of waiting, teased every so often by a remix or ultra-rare 12", we are proud be unleashing Lory's new material in 2008.
